ASAM Announces 2026 Class of Ruth Fox Scholars
Rockville, MD (Jan. 20, 2026) - The American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) today announced the recipients of the 2026 Ruth Fox Scholarship.
This scholarship is awarded to current residents and fellows who have demonstrated a deep interest in and commitment to the field of addiction medicine. Named in honor of ASAM’s founding president, Ruth Fox, MD, the program aims to provide educational and career growth opportunities for the next generation of addiction medicine specialist physicians.
Each recipient receives free registration and a travel stipend for , where they will be able to explore the latest innovations in addiction medicine prevention, treatment, and research. While at Annual Conference, scholars will be paired with an experienced mentor to provide support and guidance as they embark on their careers as addiction medicine physicians. Scholars also receive three years of complimentary ASAM membership.

The scholarship program is supported by the Ruth Fox Memorial Endowment Fund. To date, the endowment has helped over 320 physicians-in-training learn about the diagnosis and treatment of addiction.
